Christopher Michael Torres
May 16, 1986 – July 27, 2026
Christopher Torres passed away at the age of 40, on July 27, 2026, following a tragic collision.
Christopher Michael Torres was born on May 16, 1986, in Modesto, California to Ralph Y. Torres and Paula Redfern. He attended Caswell and Sam Vaughn Elementary schools and Blaker-Kinser Junior High. He spent the first three years of high school at Turlock High where he met his future wife. He returned to Ceres for his senior year and graduated from Ceres High’s Class of 2004. In 2006 he and his wife Rosie welcomed their first daughter, Isabella. A few years later they welcomed their youngest, Mia. Chris was crazy about his girls and loved spending time with them. Chris and Rosie eventually divorced, and he did not get to see them as much, but he would light up each time he saw them.
Chris was a die-hard Raider and Oakland A’s fan. He could remember and recite all the players’ stats listed on the back of his playing cards since he was a young boy. He loved going to Raider games in Oakland and the A’s vs Yankees games were always a lot of fun and trash talk, since I was the only Yankee fan in the family. He loved sports. He played soccer, baseball and basketball for the Ceres Recreation leagues and he played basketball and flag football at Blaker-Kinser.
Chris loved spending time with family and friends. He and his younger brother, Adam, spent the most time together. When they were little, Chris loved to pick on his little brother, but if anyone else tried to mess with Adam, they would have to answer to big bro. He loved to fish and camp and just hang out and visit with family and friends. He would help his Grandma Kathy with work in the yard when she was no longer physically able to do it herself. He would visit with his Grandpa and Grandma Torres and have conversations and eat food his Grandma Lydia would make for him. When Chris was still married, he became close with his in-laws, Sal and Rosa. Chris loved when there was a party at their house, which was often, because that meant Sal would be making chicharrónes and Rosa would be cooking up a feast of Mexican food. The boy loved to eat!
There was a time when Chris was struggling in life. It was at this time that Chris found Christ. It renewed his soul and helped to repair his relationships with his family, which were strained for a time. It was at this time that he began his own business doing landscaping. He loved it. As a teenager Chris and a neighbor boy started their own little landscaping business in the neighborhood pulling weeds, mowing lawns, doing whatever they could to make money. Who knew in the future he would do it again.
Christopher is survived by his beloved daughters, Isabella Torres and Mia Torres of Turlock; his mother, Paula Redfern of Ceres; his father Ralph Torres and Melissa Torres of Modesto; his little bro Adam Torres and sister-in-law Felisha Torres of Modesto; sister Gabrielle Vang (Ralph) of Citrus Heights and Diego Torres (Ralph) of Beaufort, South Carolina.
He also leaves behind his grandparents Ralph and Lydia Torres of Modesto, his aunt Lisa “Mona” Tillery of Modesto and his uncle Daniel Torres of Modesto; his aunt Deanna “DeDe” Redfern of Turlock. Christopher also leaves behind his nephew Adam Torres II, and niece Ava Torres (Adam); niece Josie Vang (Gabrielle), many great-aunts, cousins and friends. He leaves behind his ex-wife, Rosie Torres and her parents, Salvador and Rosa Ramos.
Christopher was preceded in death by his grandpa Chuck Redfern and step-grandma Shirley Redfern, his step-grandfather Bill Alberti and his grandma Kathy Redfern.
Rest in Peace Son.
