REPORT OF DUI DRIVER ENDS IN ARREST

A citizen’s report of a possible drunken driver on the road Sunday afternoon ended in an arrest of a repeat offender.

At 3:28 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Isaac Carter answered the call about a dangerous driver in a silver-colored Toyota Camry in the area of Mitchell Road and Whitmore Avenue. The driver was located and stopped in the 1900 block of Glen Ridge Drive. While speaking to driver Jose Martinez Lopez, 38, of Turlock, Officer Carter detected the signs that he was under the influence of alcohol. At the conclusion of the DUI investigation, Lopez was arrested. He provided breath samples that showed him over triple the legal limit.

Lopez had a license suspended for DUI and had three misdemeanor warrants, all of which were for DUI. Lopez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for DUI, driving on a license suspended for DUI and the three misdemeanor warrants for DUI.

BICYCLIST WITH WARRANT PICKED UP OFF THE STREET

A 32-year-old Modesto man was arrested Wednesday evening, July 29 for a felony warrant as he was stopped on his bike for vehicle code violations.

At 9:44 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Chase Maloney was patrolling the area of Myrtlewood and Mauna Loa drives when he stopped bicyclist Marcus Lopez. When his name and date of birth were run through a records check, it was determined that Lopez had a felony warrant for his arrest related to a prior assault. Officer Maloney arrested Lopez for the felony warrant and booked him into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.

MOTORIST STOPPED, ARRESTED FOR WARRANT

Kwaheri Rue, 25 of Modesto was arrested during a Thursday morning traffic stop due to his felony warrant for his arrest related to a prior theft.

At approximately 12:20 a.m., Ceres Police Officer Tyler Wilson was patrolling the area of Nadine Avenue and Herndon Road when he stopped Rue for committing vehicle code violations in a Lexus sedan. After learning of his warrant, the officer arrested Rue and booked him into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
