A commercial big-rig truck driver with 25 years' experience was blamed for a four-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on eastbound Hatch Road near Moffet Road.

The crash occurred at 2:13 p.m. when the truck driver came upon vehicles stopped for an eastbound red light. The tractor of the big-rig struck the back of a van, which set off a chain of crashes.

Two children, aged 5 and 15, as well as an elderly female were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
