A missing 72-year-old Ceres woman has her friends and family in deep worry especially given the amount of time she has been gone.

Ajit Kaur left her apartment at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, August 22 and didn’t return. She was still missing when this edition went to press.

Ceres police shared a photo of Kaur’s last known sighting, captured by a surveillance camera in the 3100 block of Whitmore Avenue.

The family expressed concern for Kaur’s health, noting that she has high blood pressure and diabetes and requires nightly medication.

“We are extremely worried about her and want her home safely,” posted granddaughter Hardeep Sekhon on social media.

The family gathered at Neel Park in Ceres on Tuesday evening, August 25 for a candlelight vigil to raise awareness about her disappearance.

Kaur was described as approximately 5 foot 4 inches, with black and grey hair color and brown eyes. She left her home wearing a pink/peach-colored Indian suit and a dark pink Indian headscarf/chunni. The woman does not drive.

Checks with area family and friends in the area, hospitals and hotels have been fruitless.

The Ceres Police Department said it does not believe foul play was involved in her disappearance.
