The Leadership Modesto (LeMo) Class of 2026 and the Modesto Chamber of Commerce invite the public to attend a Friday, Sept. 25 ribbon-cutting ceremony for the unveiling of the newly renovated dog runs at the Stanislaus Animal Services Agency (SASA), at 3647 Cornucopia Way in Ceres.

The event at 12 noon will celebrate the project, which was the culmination of the LeMo class project: “Cause for Paws.” The effort was designed to create a happier, safer space for shelter dogs to play. The project to renovate six out of the eight dog yards at was made possible through the support of our community.

Each year, LeMo unites emerging and established leaders to address a critical local need. The class of 2026 launched a community-driven effort to raise over $57,000 to renovate the SASA dog yards. Contributions were made by more than 375 donations from businesses, organizations, and residents.

The dog runs were renovated with durable, pet-safe turf, creating a cleaner, safer, and more comfortable space for dogs to run, play, and connect with potential adopters. This vital improvement will support healthier animals, enhance daily care, and provide a welcoming environment that helps dogs find their forever homes. This will make a lasting impact on the animals in our community’s care.
