Two killed in Saturday evening crash blamed on DUI driver

Danielle Morgan, 28, of Fair Oaks was arrested for felony DUI and two counts of murder relating to Friday's double-fatal crash in Ceres.

Two Turlock teenagers were killed in a Saturday evening crash at Whitmore Avenue and Crows Landing Road with the responsible driver arrested for drunken driving and two counts of murder.

The driver and passenger of a 2008 Nissan Altima were killed instantly in the 7:58 p.m. crash. Both were 19 years old. Their identities were released Monday as Favian Reinoso and Yahir Ulises Gomez Valladar.

The Nissan was eastbound on W. Whitmore Avenue at 7:58 p.m. and went through the intersection on a green light when they were struck by a southbound 2019 white Ford F350 that went through on a red light. The impact sent the Nissan into the northbound lanes of Crows Landing Road.

The driver of the pickup, Danielle Morgan, 28, of Fair Oaks was arrested for felony DUI and two counts of murder. 

A deputy with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department came across the crash moments after it occurred. He alerted the Ceres Police Department since it was in Ceres’ jurisdiction. Modesto Police Department also responded.

The Ceres Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) was called in to investigate. The investigation is in its infancy stage.
