A memorial service was held on Saturday at the home of Jim and Patricia Potthoff's home in Oakdale for. Ann Marie "Annie" Waltermire, 42, of Ceres. She died July 25, 2009 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Annie was born March 24, 1967 in Oakdale to John Austin and Mary Lou Graves. She married Joe Waltermire in April 1987, and had a son Andrew, in December 1987. Annie lived most of her life in Oakdale until her move with her family to Ceres in 2005. Annie loved being a wife and mother. She enjoyed her pets, country music, gardening, making crafts, baking for family and friends, and decorating the home for the holidays. Her family and friends admired Annie's life-long accomplishments in her daily battles with Type 1 diabetes and later with liver disease, and in the last two years her courageous fight with cancer. Through it all, her big brown eyes never lost their twinkle.

She leaves behind her husband, Joe Waltermire of Ceres; her son, Andrew Waltermire of Ceres; her father, John Austin of Modesto; her sisters, Shannon Graves of Fairfield, and Ashley Wegner of Clarksville, Tenn. She was preceded in death by mother Mary Lou Graves and sister Meredy Austin.
