A funeral service was held at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Carolyn Joy Elwess Kelch Seratt, 69, of Ceres. She died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004 at her home.
Burial was at Ceres Memorial Park.
Born March 21, 1935, Mrs. Seratt was a native of Rushville, Neb., and lived in Modesto and Ceres for 32 years. She worked as a licensed vocational nurse for 18 years. Mrs. Seratt was a member of Ripon Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed caring for others.
She leaves behind three children, Dale Kelch of Modesto, Camille Pritchett of Huntsville, Ala., and Louise Rial of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four brothers, Douglas Elwess of Chadron, Neb., Howard Elwess and Sam Elwess, both of Oakdale, and David Elwess of La Verkin, Utah; five sisters, Arla Cronan of Greeley Hill, Lois Bezanson of Turlock, Vera Frank of Tuolumne City, Connie Gwin of Ceres and Dianne Mooney of Oakdale; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Remembrances may be sent to a favorite charity.
