A memorial service was held Friday at Eaton Family Funeral Home in Modesto, for Don Vincent Bali, 38, of Turlock. He died suddenly from natural causes on Aug. 12, 2008 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born Aug. 22, 1969, Don was a native of Hayward and moved to Tracy before his senior year of high school in 1986. After moving to the Valley, Don lived in Tracy, Manteca, Modesto and Turlock. He was a National Guard / U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Bali owned several small businesses including a detail shop. Don then decided to get into law enforcement and earned his certificate. Don spent over seven years with the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department, working as a deputy in Hughson and other locations, a detective and a bailiff in the court system. Dib had been recognized as peace officer of the year.

Mr. Bali enjoyed time with his friends and family and loved camping, spending time on the beach and in the outdoors, watching movies and barbecues.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Bali, three years ago.
