Dortha Lee Borden

April 6, 1937 – March 13, 2024

Dortha Lee Borden, 86 of Modesto, passed away on March 13, 2024.

Dortha was born on April 6, 1937 in Arkansas to Elza and Fern Reeves. Along with her parents, she grew up with siblings Geraldean, Bernice, and Clyde. In her younger days, Dortha made the move to California with her family, where her roots planted, and her family grew. She married Noel Terry Borden, and the pair had seven children together.

Dortha held great enjoyment in working and owned several businesses in her lifetime, including a mobile home, crane, and trucking business in Ceres. When she was not working, Dortha loved to visit yard sales and gamble, and her hobbies included playing baseball and bowling. She participated in a local bowling league called the Pinketts.

Dortha especially loved her family. She was blessed with a loving husband, wonderful children, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Dortha is preceded in death by husband Noel Terry Borden, and children Chuck Linder, Darrel Linder, and Deborah Freeman. She is survived by sister Beatrice Williams, and four children, Noel Borden, Terrilynn McLelland, Geraldean Miller and Sam Borden.

A memorial service for Dortha will be held Thursday, March 28 at 1:30 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Avenue in Hughson.

Following the memorial service will be a reception hosted in the Riverside Chapel.
