A funeral Mass was held Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres for Eustorgio "Joe" Longoria Rendon, 74, of Ceres. He died Aug. 10, 2008.
The Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of cremation.
Born Jan. 22, 1934, Mr. Rendon was a native of Rock Springs, Texas. He enjoyed telling jokes, reading Mexican/American history, and listening to mariachi music.
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Mary Rendon of Ceres; six children, Everett Ray Rendon, Gina Thexton, Dianne Calloway, Rosanna Prucha, Dawn Ember Evanson and Eric Martin Rendon; two sisters, Dr. Dora Veach, and Eliza Duran; his his brother, Ernest Rendon; 15 grandchildren, Leticia, Joseph, David, Melissa, Rachel, Sarah, Amy Nicole, Taynna, Marty, Raven, Misti, Amanda, Kyle, Heather and Emily; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Michael. He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
