A Mass was held Tuesday at St. Joseph' Catholic Church for Eva Virginia Ramos, 91, of Modesto. She died Sept. 5, 2009.

Interment was at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Salas Brothers Funeral Home.

Born June 18, 1918 to Joe and Barbara Gonsalves, Eva Gonsalves was one of six children. She was raised on a dairy and resided in the Modesto area throughout her life. She attended Jones School and Hughson High School. She completed a career of over 30 years working for Campbell Foods. Mrs. Ramos had a lifelong passion as a cooking enthusiast and collecting new recipes. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling in her RV to various destinations such as Arizona and Pismo Beach.

She leaves behind her sister Evelyn Andrew; her grandchildren, Jim Kim and Dan King, Deanna Perkinton and Nicole Smith; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands Alfred Rose, Fay Booher and William Ramos, daughter Marlene Rose King, brothers Louie Gonsalves, John Gonsalves and Joseph Gonsalves and sister Emily Vetro.
