A Celebration of Life was held Thursday at the Riverside Reception Hall in Hughson for Evelyn Joann Quigley, 70, of Ceres. She died July 19, 2008 after a short illness.
Born June 15, 1938, Mrs. Quigley was a native of Little Rock, Ark., born to John and Leola Harris. She grew up in the Modesto area and graduated from Modesto High School. One of her favorite pasttimes was attending baseball and softball games, where she cheered on her grandchildren. Mrs. Quigley worked at Mervyn's for 23 years.
She leaves behind her three children, Angela Riley of Ceres, Marla Oliver of Modesto and Victor Quigley of Ceres; her siblings, Joni Parks, Von Harris, Martha Jones, Shirley Hislip, Terri Harris, Linda Couples and Mary Fern Wiener; and her grandchildren, Megan Alltus, Rick Alltus, Kelsey Bristow and Jessica Bristow, all of Ceres, Shannon Quigley of Modesto, Nikki Quigley of Salida, Garrett Riley of Ceres, and Kyle Curry of Modesto. She was preceded in death by siblings, James Harris and Peggy Hoover.
