Gerald Kinney

A service with full military honors was held Jan. 14 at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella for Gerald "Gary" Kinney, 57, of Hughson. He died Nov. 25, 2010.

Born May 24, 1957 in Canton, N.Y., to Robert and Harriet Kinney, Gerald served his country for 23 years in military, three years in the Air Force and 20 years in the Army Reserves. He was active as a charter member in the Hughson Post 872 of the American Legion. He served as its first and second vice commander and sergeant at arms. He was always eager to help fellow veterans with obtaining their benefits through Veterans Affairs.

He leaves behind his wife, Ginger Kinney of Hughson; three children, Sarah, Nancy and Brandon; his brother, Gilbert Kinney of Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lauren Kinney.
