Gordon Miller Larsen

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Gordon Miller Larsen, 84, of Ceres. He died June 25, 2009 at his home with family at his side.

Burial will follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

Born in May 1925, Gordon was born in East Stanwood, Wash., and had served in the Navy during World War II. He had lived in Gilroy, Gustine, and Newman between 1954 and 1980. When he lived on the westside, he was a partner of Vege-Cool. In 1980, he moved to Turlock. Gordon had met Frances and married her in 1993. They moved to Ceres in 2005. Mr. Larsen enjoyed trips to Lake Tahoe, traveling, fishing, and golfing.

He leaves behind his wife, Frances Larsen of Ceres; his children, Steven Larsen of Sacramento, Jeff Larsen, Dennis Larsen, and Rick Larsen, all of Turlock, David Larsen of Newman, Kelley Dean of Arizona, Lisa Sportsman of Modesto, Janell DuBeau of Wyoming and Brenda Leger of Kentucky; his sister, Esther Bell of Blaine, Wash.; and 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
