A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin and Downs for Joann Rogers, 66, of Ceres. She died Nov. 17, 2009 after battling cancer.

Born Jan. 20, 1943 in Modesto, her family moved to Ceres when she was just a year old. She attended Ceres elementary schools and graduated from Ceres High School. Joann was employed at the Tri-Valley Cannery for 27 years. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Victory Assembly of God Church in Ceres. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo and knitting.

She leaves behind her four sisters, Vennie Isakson, Marian Holt, Phyllis Nunes and Victoria LaRosa; and six nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Eva LaRosa and husband Robert Rogers.
