A graveside service was held Friday at Ceres Memorial Park for Johnnie W. Easley, 66, of Turlock. He died May 11, 2009.

The Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born in Modesto on April 17, 1943, Johnnie was raised in Keyes. He owned and operated his own business in Turlock and was an active volunteer for the Salvation Army Food Distribution Program in Keyes. Mr. Easley enjoyed spending time with his family, attending rodeos, hunting, fishing and tending to his garden.

He leaves behind his spouse, Gerry Easley of Turlock; two daughters Melody Kent of Keyes and Machelle Dochow of Folsom; his mother, Bertha Easley of Nampa, Idaho; two sisters, Frances Willhite of Hanford and Barbara Jones of Nampa, Idaho; three stepchildren, Steven Alvares, Rosie Alvares and Chris Alvares; eight grandchildren, Staretta Kent, Felix Romero, Myles Romero, Kayla Butler, Ethan Alvares, Evyn Alvares, Christopher Alvares, Abigail Alvares and Hailey-Brook Alvares; and a great-grandchild, Saul Xavier Amaya. He was preceded in death by father John Easley, and great-grandson Saul Amaya-Kent.
