Linda Kay Scudder-Flores


February 8, 1949 – November 28, 2023


Daughter of Frank and Artie Scudder, Linda was a lifelong resident of Ceres. Linda loved spending time with family, visiting with friends, playing bingo and traveling.


Linda was the glue that held her family together. She loved having all of her girls over, hosting luncheons for her friends, or any excuse to bring people together. Linda also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Linda passed away surrounded by her daughters, granddaughter Cortney and lifelong friend Lynnell on Nov. 28 after her battle with ovarian cancer.

Linda was a pillar of the Ceres community, volunteering throughout the years on various committees. She will be missed greatly by our community.

Services will be held at Franklin & Downs in Ceres. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12. A graveside service and reception will follow.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Angie Smith (Gerald), Sarah LaShomb (Troy), Kimberlee Flores-Winn (Andrew) and Jennifer Flores-Souza (Joseph); her grandchildren, Cortney Mann (Matt), Hudsen Flores-Dye and Hynnlee Souza; and two great-grandchildren, Luke Mann and Lane Mann.

Linda is preceded in death by: Husband Richard Duarte, Husband Jesse Flores, Mother Artie Scudder, Father Frank Scudder, Brothers Charles Scudder, Jim Scudder.
