A celebration of her life was held Saturday at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Lorraine Long, 86, of Ceres. She died Aug. 3, 2010 at her residence.
Lorraine was born in August 1923 in Chicago, Ill., to William and Elsie Tank. She married James M. Long on June 8, 1943 and lived in Chicago and Wisconsin before moving to the Los Angeles area in 1957. They settled in Turlock in 1962. She was an USDA inspector for 15 years. Mrs. Long enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing bingo.
She leaves behind four sons, James Long, Larry Long and Benchley Long, all of Turlock, and Madiera Long of Ceres; and 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband James M. Long and her son Mark Long.
