A rosary and Mass were held Tuesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres for Lucio M. Costa, 60, of Ceres. He died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005 at his home.
Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Chapel in Turlock was in charge of arrangements.
Born March 4, 1944, Mr. Costa was a native of Sereta, Terceira, the Azores, and lived in Ceres for 34 years. He was a machine operator for Weyerhaeuser for 34 years. Mr. Costa was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, the Luso-American Fraternal Federation, Our Lady of Miracles of Gustine and MPPA. He coached youth soccer teams in Ceres for 10 years. Mr. Costa enjoyed fishing.
He leaves behind his wife, Maria Costa of Ceres; two sons, Kevin L. Costa of Ceres and Jason J. Costa of Riverbank; his brother, Louie A. Costa of Turlock; his sister, Mary Levine of Santa Clara; and two grandchildren.
