A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lakewood Memorial Park for Luther Douglas Phelps, 81, of Ceres. He died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Lakewood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born June 14, 1923, Mr. Phelps was a native of Short, Okla., and lived in Ceres for 60 years. He was a janitor for the Ceres Unified School District.
He leaves behind three children, Mike Black of Mount Vernon, Okla., Ann Black of Ceres and Sherry Johnson of Modesto; and six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
