A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Manuel Mendieta Jr., 69, of Modesto. He died of natural causes on May 8, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Services will conclude at the chapel.
Born July 20, 1934, Mr. Mendieta was a native of Kingsville, Texas, and lived in Modesto since 1989. He was a postal clerk for the U.S. Post Office for 30 years. Mr. Mendieta was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
She leaves behind his wife, Juanita Mendieta of Modesto; two children, Melba Bower of Ceres and Manuel Mendieta III of Milpitas; his brother, Erasio Mendieta of Texas; his sister, Maria Louisa Solis of Texas; and six grandchildren.
