A graveside service was held Saturday at Acacia Memorial Park for Margie Lou Duke Mills, 83, of Modesto. She died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005 at her home.
Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Born Jan. 29, 1922, Mrs. Mills was a native of Kaufman, Texas, and had lived in Modesto since 1951. She was a kitchen supervisor for 17 years at Scenic General Hospital. Mrs. Mills was a member of Stanislaus County Retirees Association, and enjoyed baby-sitting and fishing.
She leaves behind five children, Mildred Smith, Glenda Chandler and Debra Fathi, all of Ceres, Barbara Pence of Long Creek, Ore., and Jean Rarick of Modesto; and 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl James Mills; son, Michael E. Mills; one brother; and three sisters.
