A Mass was held Friday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church for Miguel Angel Arreola, 16, of Modesto. He was fatally shot at a South Modesto convenience store on Friday, April 16, 2004. He died at Doctors Medical Center.
Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements, including burial at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
Born Oct. 8, 1987 Miguel was a native of Manteca, and lived in Modesto all his life. He was a 10th-grader at Elliott Alternative Education Center. Miguel was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, and enjoyed fishing and music.
He leaves behind his mother, Rachel Garza of Modesto; two brothers, Jose Sanchez and Pedro Arreola, both of Modesto; five sisters, Vanessa Arreola, Valerie Arreola, Kassandra Arreola, Jazmyne Arreola and Isabel Gallegos, all of Modesto; and grandmother, Raquel Garza of Modesto. He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Arreola.
