A funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the Ceres Seventh-day Adventist Church of Ceres for Milford Orville Brown, 84, of Hughson. He died Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at his home.

A graveside service was held Monday morning at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella under the direction of Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel.

Born Dec. 10, 1920, Mr. Brown was a native of Stotesbury, Md., and had lived in Hughson since 1966. He was school principal of the general conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mr. Brown was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps from 1940-45. He enjoyed sports and people.

He leaves behind his wife, Mildred R. Brown of Hughson; three children, Michael A. Brown of Hughson, Gena Balugo of Fresno and Milford A. Brown of Russellville, Ark.; his brother, Raymond Brown of California; and three grandchildren.
