A graveside service was held Tuesday at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella for Millard William Gradall, 87, of Modesto. He died Aug. 5, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center.
Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Born Aug. 27, 1917, Mr. Gradall was a native of Phoenix and had lived in Modesto since 1939. He was a retired milker for John Postma Dairy and had also worked as a warehouse millworker. Mr. Gradall served in the Army from 1942-52.
He leaves behind four children, Luanna K. Hardman and Wayne Gradall, both of Springfield, Ore., Shirley Stacey of Albany, Ore., and Carrie Ann Shelton of Washington; two stepchildren, Roberta Tazares and Shirley Gradall-Wall, both of Ceres; and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
