A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Lakewood Memorial Park for Paige Amberson Scoggins, 85, of Modesto. He died Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center.

Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Born Nov. 12, 1918, Mr. Scoggins was a native of Paris, Texas, and had lived in Modesto since 1989. He previously lived in Hughson for 25 years. Mr. Scoggins was a minister 53 years and was a member of Living World Fellowship of Modesto. While living in Hughson, he owned and operated Paige's Body Shop.

He leaves behind his wife, Wanda Scoggins of Modesto; two daughters, Peggy McElmurry of Visalia and Janice Allen of San Jose; three stepdaughters, Teresa Joy of Modesto, Brenda Bergwerff of Oakdale and Glenda Miller of Sonora; his brother, Wendell Scoggins of Manila, Philippines; two sisters, Evelyn "Mert" Caveness and Bobbie McNail, both of Columbia, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Dwight Scoggins; two brothers; and two sisters.
