A funeral service was held Friday at Turlock Funeral Home for Vincent V. Spoto, 76, of Hughson. He died peacefully on Jan. 14, 2010 at home.

Burial was at Turlock Memorial Park.

Born Oct. 26, 1933 in Manhattan, New York City, Vincent was the son of Lucia and Nicholas Spoto and brother Michael Spoto. He served in the Navy from 1952-56 as an Electrician's Mate Second Class. He received the National Defense Service Metal and Good Conduct Metal. Mr. Spoto began his 25-year career at IBM in Fishkill, N.Y. as a programmer. He transferred later to California, where he married and raised three children.

He leaves behind three daughters, Jolene McFeely of Santa Cruz, Diane Spoto of Salida and Jennifer Alvear of Ceres; and six grandchildren.
