A memorial service was held Friday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Wanda O. Mendosa, 90, of Modesto. The former Hughson resident died Feb. 5, 2010 at English Oaks Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.
Born Nov. 4, 1919, Wanda worked at Florence's Dress Shop in Ceres for 20 years. She served as president of the PTA for Milnes Grammar school for several years. Mrs. Mendosa lived in Samaritan Village in Hughson for four years before having located to English Oaks. Wanda enjoyed dancing, playing cards, ceramics, golf, bowling and being a member of the Red Hat Society.
She leaves behind two children, Marlene Weeks and Jerry Mendosa; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Arthur Mendosa.
