Wayne P. Koehler

A funeral was held Thursday at the Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward for Wayne Pershing Koehler, 86, of Ceres. He died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005 at Garden City Health Care Center in Modesto.

Born March 14, 1919, Mr. Koehler was a native of Osceola, Neb., and lived in Ceres for 16 years and previously lived in the Bay Area. He was last employed as head mechanic at Kruger and Sons Produce. Mr. Koehler was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, and had attained the rank of sergeant. Mr. Koehler he fought in the battle of Okinawa.

He leaves behind his wife, Emma A. Koehler of Ceres; three children, Dennis W. Koehler and Lenny F. Koehler, both of Modesto, and Larina D. Serpa of Waterford; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
