The members of the CCC Rockers/Ceres Blaze 12-year-old youth baseball team will board airplanes and travel to the East Coast this Thursday.

They'll participate in the Cooperstown Dreams Park Tournament.

The bracket for the June 27-July 3 event features 104 teams.

"It's a big undertaking," head coach Jim Pernetti said. "It's taken three years to put together. Everybody made their own reservations. It's really been a Godsend. It's like a dream come true."

Coach Jim Pernetti carries 12 players on his roster, including Joshua Pernetti, Dominic Magdaleno, Justin Prestridge, Gabriel Flores, Jacob Maxwell, Hayden Feldman, Cody Haskill, Nathan Mailloux, Clayton Bowerman, Ramon Grande, Isaiah Alcorn and Cameron Walker.

Joshua has hit 13 homers this season.

"This team is a work in progress," Jim Pernetti said. "We've played rec ball up until the last three weeks. We've won our last two tournaments."
The Rockers/Blaze will complete six pool play games to determine seeding for the championship bracket.

"We'll play a bunch of games," coach Pernetti said. "I have no clue what the competition is going to be there. There's going to be teams from all over the country. Anything can happen."

Coaches and players will also go sightseeing. They'll visit Niagara Falls and Yankee Stadium among other places.

"We're all going to the Baseball Hall of Fame," Jim Pernetti said.
