The Ceres Hawks Wrestling Club brought home eight individual medals from the SJWA-sanctioned Ripon High School tournament on Jan. 26.

"I'm very happy with how the kids performed," assistant coach Brian Becerra said. "A lot of our kids are new to the sport. They wrestled kids with more experience."

Tyler Fleming, Nicolas Garcia, Brian Becerra Jr., Jesus Ochoa, Ruben Valenzuela, Ryan Palacek, Isaac Orozco and Sebastian Saucedo all finished in the top three in their respective weight classes.
Fleming (Middle School-98) posted a perfect 3-0 record on his way to a first-place finish.

Garcia (Rookie-50) took first with a 2-0 mark.

Becerra Jr. (Middle School-112, 2-1), Ochoa (Intermediate-95, 2-1), Palacek (Middle School-144, 1-2) and Saucedo (Novice-120, 0-2) placed second.

Valenzuela (Novice-100, 3-2) and Orozco (Intermediate-120, 1-2) both finished third.

Michael Ruiz (Intermediate-50, 2-3) was fourth.
