Zachary Jones, Julia Pata, Ciana Sather, Kiera Brownlee and Lindsey Reedy will represent Ceres High School's swim program at the Sac-Joaquin Section Championships this week in Lodi.

Jones, Pata, Sather, Brownlee and Reedy posted qualifying times for the meet during the regular season.

Jones will be making his third straight appearance at the section competition.

"This is what I've been training for all year," he said. "I'm going to make sure I do my best."

Zachary, a junior, qualified to compete in the 50 free and 100 free trials at the varsity level on Friday at Tokay High School.

"I'd be satisfied if I get any medal placement," said Jones, who swept both sprint events and anchored two winning relay teams at the 2014 Western Athletic Conference Championships last month. "It would mean a lot. It's going to take all I have. I'm ready for it."

Zachary took third in the 50 free and eighth in the 100 free at the frosh-soph section finals last season.

"I know it's going to be a lot tougher," Jones said. "But I still have high expectations. I'm going to give it my all. I've improved a lot this year but I should be doing better."

Pata, Sather, Brownlee and Reedy will compete in the frosh-soph girls trials on Thursday.

Julia, a freshman, posted section-qualifying times in the 50 free and 100 free.

"It's nerve racking and exciting at the same time," Pata said. "My goal is to finish in the top eight. I want to improve my times in each event."

Pata swept the 50 free and 100 free at the WAC Championships.

Julia didn't lose an individual race while competing against upperclassmen during the conference season.

"I never thought I'd be as fast as I am," Pata said. "I know I could be better."

Sather will compete in the 100 fly. She finished second in the race at the WAC finals.

Pata, Sather, Brownlee and Reedy will team up in the 200 medley and 400 free relay events.

"We've worked hard for this," Julia said.

Section finals will be staged on Saturday.
