A newcomer to the Central California Conference, Central Valley’s swim program wrapped up the 2019 season this past month.

The Hawks competed at the CCC Championships, April 17-18, at El Capitan High School.

Central Valley girls standout Aryanna Jimenez placed fourth in the 50 free (27.67) and fifth in the 100 free (1:00).

She set personal records in both events.

“I left satisfied. My goals were to place in the top eight and improve my times, which I did."

“I left satisfied,” Jimenez said. “My goals were to place in the top eight and improve my times, which I did. I came close to qualifying for sections in the 50 free. I want more next year.”

Seeded third, Jimenez swept both the 50 free and 100 free at the 2018 Western Athletic Conference finals.

“The competition is so much harder in the CCC,” Jimenez said. “There are a lot more teams. A lot of the girls swim outside of high school.”

Jimenez had a near-perfect 11-1 dual record against CCC opponents this spring.

She was undefeated (6-0) in the 50 free.

She had a 5-1 mark in the 100 free.

“I really liked the competition,” Jimenez said. “It pushed me to do better.”
