Members of Central Valley's and Ceres High's varsity girls tennis programs enjoyed successful runs at the Western Athletic Conference Doubles Championships on Thursday in Los Banos.

Central Valley's top-seeded tandem of Guadalupe Becerra and Adriana Valdez finished in second place.

Becerra and Valdez lost 7-5, 6-2 to Los Banos' Kierstyn Cotta and Kiara Azevedo in the finals.

Cotta and Azevedo were seeded third.

Becerra and Valdez defeated Patterson's Breanna Hernandez and Marisol Jimenez 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) in the semifinals and Livingston's Gabriela Ramirez and Analucia Fuentes 6-0, 6-1 in the quarterfinals.

Guadalupe and Adriana received a first-round bye.

Central Valley's Gianna Arce and Daniela Yepez won two of three matches while placing in the top four.

Arce and Yepez lost 7-5, 7-5 to Cotta and Azevedo in the semifinals.

Arce and Yepez defeated Patterson's Ezie Ogbuli and Marissa Tellas 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinals and Los Banos' Chloe Emerson and Zoe Seabock 6-4, 6-1 in the opening round.

Ogbuli and Tellas were seeded second.

Ceres High's Vivian Moreno and Shania Evans compiled a 1-1 record en route to a top-eight finish.

Moreno and Evans lost 6-3, 6-3 to Hernandez and Jimenez in the quarterfinals.

Vivian and Shania shut out Los Banos' Bridget Lopez and Corie Falaschi 6-0 6-0 in the first round.

Ceres High's Harmen Bahia and Camille Vega lost 6-1, 6-2 to Cotta and Azevedo.
