Central Valley's varsity girls wrestling program attended the ultra-competitive Napa Valley Classic, Jan. 5-6, at Vintage High School.

The Hawks totaled 32 points while finishing in 60th place at the 136-team event.

Central Valley had no individual medalists.

Brianna Quiroz finished in the top 12 in the 160-pound weight class.

She compiled a 5-2 record.

Quiroz beat Del Oro's Julia Campos (pin), Menlo's Hannah Hendrickson (pin), Pittburgh's Gabby Salguero (default) and San Leandro's Leila Thompson (pin).

Her second win came via forfeit.

Brianna lost to Bella Vista's Yelena Makoyed (pin) and Albany's Maria Patino (pin).

Esther Esceverri posted a 3-2 record at 137 pounds.

Esceverri beat Pittburgh's Nayeli Hernandez Diaz (pin), Sutter's Hallie Fernandez (pin) and Eureka's Keara Etheridge (major decision).

She lost to Menlo's Lauren McDonnell (pin) and Vista Del Lago's Rachel Saito (pin).

Emily Mendoza had a 2-2 mark at 126 pounds.

Mendoza beat San Marino's Tilly Garica (decision) and Los Banos' Kiana Daniels (decision).

She lost to Bella Vista's Nicole Strand (pin) and Abraham Lincoln's Julianna Moreno (major decision).

Olivia Chaboya went 1-2 at 170 pounds.

Chaboya beat San Marino's Charlotte Sohl (default).

She lost to Sierra's Alexa Garcia (pin) and Newark Memorial's Ariana Pereira (pin).

Vanessa Contreras (101s), Aryanna Jimenez (121s), Isabella Pelayo (131s), Alexis Ramirez (160s) and Natalia Torres (160s) all went 0-2.

Contreras lost to Golden Valley's Destiny Dominguez (pin) and Tokay's Katelyn Collette (pin).

Jimenez lost to Sierra's Cielo Angulo (major decision) and San Marino's Allison Arrington (pin).

Pelayo lost to Willits' Mandy Thurman (pin) and San Leandro's Kathy Alfaro (decision).

Ramirez lost to Chico's Annalyah Mendon (pin) and Ukiah's Taryn Heustis ((pin).

Torres lost to Irvington's Sharan Kang (pin) and San Leandro's Leila Thompson (pin).
