• One-sided umpiring

This is in regards to the championship Pony boys game for CYB. I don't have any children on either team but I do have family that plays there for CYB and I was watching the championship game and I was really wondering why there was an umpire by the name of Goblirsch and he was umpiring for the team that is sponsored by the Goblirsches. I didn't think that was allowed.

So when that caught my eye, I thought that would be a conflict of interest. As the game went on, it was very obvious ... that it was one sided umpiring. It didn't look good; it didn't go well.

• Cannot afford Obama presidency

I, too, happen to think that Obama is one of the scariest men in America. To think anyone could vote for a man who never ran a company, never ran a state as an executive and only spent three years in a U.S. Senate seat, scares me.

Obama is one of the most liberal senators among the 100 sitting in the Senate. He is proposing billions in new spending programs and you will pay for it.

I am glad that there are some in the national media who are telling it the way it is. Obama called Jeremiah Wright his mentor -- the same Wright who said "no, no, no, not God bless America but God d--- America." Oh, and did I forget to mention that Obama has never renounced his friendship with Bill Ayers, the unrepentent terrorist who bombed the World Trade Center. In 1969, Ayers participated in planting a bomb at a statue dedicated to police casualties in the 1886 Haymarket Riot. The blast broke almost 100 windows and blew pieces of the statue onto the nearby Kennedy Expressway.

I cannot afford a Barrack Obama presidency. He will tax the living daylights out of my family at a time when I cannot afford a penny more. My country cannot afford his cut-and-run surrender policy toward Iraq. I want a man with backbone running my country, someone like McCain who knows firsthand what the enemy is capable of.

• Ease up on the truckers

I'm calling in regards to all the NO TRUCK PARKING signs in Ceres. My husband drives truck for a living and is out of town all week long. We decided that it would be nice to have a nice family dinner together once a week just for 30 minutes so I drove around town to find a place for him to park for I could pick him up and bring him home for a nice family dinner. There was only one spot that I found and it was so small he had a hard time trying to get out. I know how those big trucks parked everywhere is a big inconvenience but having a designated time limit of course placed for our truck drivers to park isn't too much to ask for. Family time is so important these days and when part of the family is gone for any length of time, it's hard on the family and 30 minutes really isn't too much to ask for.

• Yes, buy less gas

I'm calling in regard to this gas out of control call ("Send a message of gas prices.") I support the guy in the message. People need to start doing that and let's see how fast it goes down.

• In love with Obama

Regarding "No way to Obama support," I'm always amazed and even appalled that some people can't see the brilliance of this man. They believe the lies and the smears, as if they were the truth. Instead of actually looking at him. And why do people still harp on the pastor when Obama isn't the pastor and the pastor isn't even his pastor any more. Does anyone but me find it interesting that out of 20 or 30 years of sermons, they could only find a few minutes of objectionable material? More to the point: Have you ever heard Barrack Obama himself speak hatefully or in a way that wasn't completely caring about the future of our country? Why would someone who hated America run for president? The caller said he doesn't understand. I don't understand the caller. Perhaps the caller might sit quietly and consider this: Would you be willing to put yourself out there and expose your life, your every word and action to millions of people, many of whom will only spread lies and hateful thoughts towards you? Seems to me that anyone willing to go through all that must love his country very much and be selfless about it besides. After all, Sen. Obama will earn maybe a tenth of what he could make in the private sector in order to be president.

So what's in it for him? Thanks to the last Administration's mishandling of just about everything, Obama will have more problems to deal with than any president deserves. What makes anyone think that someone who is that brave doesn't love his country? Please learn what Obama really thinks and his vision for the future by reading his books, "Dreams from My Father" and "Audacity of Hope." He did not use a ghostwriter. And his writing is engrossing and spellbinding. What a mind!

Ask yourself if any of his ideas would be bad for the country. If any of them aren't plain common sense solutions. And America should only be so lucky to have someone who actually speaks ... how to put a sentence together in a coherent manner, thus expressing himself beautifully.

I have never been so excited about a candidate in over 40 years of voting. Let's hope the rest of the country isn't put off by the hatred spewed by those who can't stand excellence.
