• Woman to blame for dog loss

I'm calling regarding the comment about the police running over the dog in the Courier. I live down the street from that house. Kinda funny, I was standing outside when it happened. You know, the SWAT team was there serving a warrant because of drug charges and felony convictions prior on the residents and I distinctly heard the officers telling the lady to keep the dog in the house and she didn't listen to them and let the dog out. It's not their fault that the dog got under the car when they were backing out.

She needs to tell the truth when she's calling the newspaper.

• Recommends Fifth Street groomer

I try to do all the business I can with the merchants here in town and I wanted everyone to know there is a great pet salon over on Fifth Street. I have a Lhasa Apso that is only five months ago and she's rather squirmy and energetic but this lady gave her the most wonderful haircut and was so patient with her. Absolutely she is adorable. So I would highly commend the lady on Fifth Street in the strip mall and you won't be sorry for taking your pet there.

• Reckless drivers, last days go together

I would like to comment on the call, "Reckless driving must stop." I totally agree with the caller that there are many reckless drivers these days. But the caller who works on Fourth Street said she sees reckless drivers of all age groups. I would have to say my experience is that the reckless drivers are the young ones, like the teenagers and those in their 20s.

I have seen my share of crazy drivers on Fourth Street. They think, because of the roundabouts, that it's a slalom course and they may speed. I have particularly seen drivers speeding from Whitmore to the first roundabout by Wells Fargo, then resume acceleration to get to the freeway onramp. Likewise, I've seen people coming off the freeway at Fourth Street and continue on Fourth Street like they are still on the freeway. Heaven forbid if you back up slowly to get your car out; they won't yield to you. You're more likely to get a horn honk as they zip around the tail of your car.

Some people have no business having a license.

But keep it in perspective. The Bible clearly states in 2 Timothy 3:2-5 this chilling prophecy about people in the last days: "People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, inhuman, implacable, slanderers, profligates, brutes, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to the outward form of religion but denying its power."

• Denair Middle School should be ashamed

Denair Middle School should be ashamed of themselves bringing hatred to a middle school! People of all races should be proud of their heritage of where they came from. We all came from somewhere; either if it's from Mexico, Egypt, India, and so on. Denair Middle School should not have made it into a such thing as a racial issue. We here in America have a such thing as a freedom of speech as stated in the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution of the United States, to express information, ideas, and opinions free of government restrictions based on content. Where does it state that we cannot, as U.S. citizens wear a shirt with a flag or fly an American flag? For all what the veterans have done for us, and for the people who is fighting for us loosing their lives just to fight for us?

We all should be very proud of Cody for the stand for what he had done. It should be made into law that we as Americans should be able to wear and show what a true meaning of our Heritage is, even though we live here in the USA.
