After a three year wait, Sinclear Elementary students now have playground equipment.

When the school campus opened in August 2005, the school was pending a permanent playground structure for students. Through many fund-raisers that included participation in the CUSD Foundation's raffle drawing, cookie dough sales, wrapping paper sales, school carnival, and other private donations that included the Ceres Lions Club and community members, Sinclear School raised the necessary $40,000 to purchase and install the new playground equipment.

Ceres Unified provided the playground infrastructure that includes the foundation, the box, and the bark that lines the base of the playground, valued at $14,000.

Attending a Thursday ribbon cutting ceremony were Sinclear Parent Teacher Club president Maricela Plancarte, Deputy Superintendent Scott Siegel, Principal Connie Stark and the current and past Student Council officers. For a twist, Stark asked the "biggest kids on campus" - the teachers - to run onto the playground and have a great time on the slides and the swings. Students excitedly waited on the blacktop for their turn to play as they laughed and cheered on their teachers to have their moment of fun.
