City concerts start Tuesday

The Ceres Recreation Department and the Ceres Concerts in the Park Committee is hosting the 20th annual Ceres Concerts in the Park series.

The 7-week series provides free entertainment to the community and an opportunity to get together in a safe and fun environment with friends and family in the shade of Whitmore Park in downtown Ceres. Concerts are held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning June 10.

Barbecued dinners will be prepared and sold by the Ceres VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

The concerts line-up is as follows:

• June 10 - Senior Night featuring Valley Christian, El Redentor, Ceres Christian, Victory and Richland Faith churches.

• June 17 - Graffiti Night featuring Johnny Rocket & Thrust and an old school Car Show.

• June 24 - Kids Night featuring the Harlan Star Band and free activities for kids provided by Ceres Recreation Department.

• July 1 - Safety Night featuring Ernie Bucio's Little Big Band and the Ceres Police and Fire Department.

• July 8 - Acoustical Night featuring two local song writers and performers Bob Moffitt and Chris Farris.

• July 15 - Agriculture Night featuring the Dave Russell Band.

• July 22 - Teen Night featuring three to four local teen bands.

Participants may purchase a commemorative 20th anniversary T-shirt during the Concert series.
