• DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: CERES - A 33-year-old Ceres man was arrested last week after he allegedly beat up his girlfriend.

Timothy Nesmith was arrested the next morning after his girlfriend alleged domestic violence against her. The woman called police at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb 25 in the 1800 block of Kinser Road.

Police located him the next morning at 5:30 a.m. near Malik Drive in west Ceres.

Nesmith was charged with domestic violence and making death threats against the woman.

• PURSUIT ENDS IN ARREST: CERES - Three men were arrested Friday evening in the 1400 block of Glenn Avenue in South Modesto after Ceres police chased the suspect for 10 minutes in the area.

At 10:48 p.m. Ceres officer Jason Brock spotted a Honda in the 1300 block of Glenn Avenue which he suspected as being stolen. At one point during the chase the driver, Dario Rios, 19, of Modesto, rammed the patrol car of Officer Pat Dayton and ran over a fence in the 1400 block of Glenn Avenue where the pursuit ended.

All four occupants tried to run away but all were captures.

Rios was charged with felony evading of a police officer, assault with a deadly weapon, felony vandalism, and resisting or delaying an officer.

Passenger David Madrigal, 20, of Modesto, was charged with resisting or delaying an officer and a probation violation.

Miguel Silva, 19, of Modesto, was arrested on charges of resisting or delaying an officer and possession of a switchblade knife.

A juvenile was released to his parents.

• BAR ALTERCATION: CERES - Rodney Taylor, 43 of Modesto, was arrested for public drunkenness after a disturbance at the Midway Club in the 1400 block of Mitchell Road on Saturday night.

Taylor was also arrested at 1:45 a.m. for giving a false name to a police officer and resisting or delaying an officer.
