Modesto Police have arrested the last and fourth person wanted for participating in the Feb. 23 robbery of the AM/PM at Service and Mitchell roads.
Detective Matt Berlier announced that a tip resulted in the arrest of Patron Salvador, 18, of Ceres who is suspected of being the one who held a gun on the store clerk. Ceres Police Department issued a call for tips leading to Salvador earlier in the week. The department said Salvador was arrested by Modesto Police on Thursday at the Discovery Inn near downtown Modesto after they had received an anonymous tip that he was there. Modesto Police turned Salvador over to Ceres detectives who booked him into the Public Safety Center for armed robbery.
Detective Berlier said Salvador knew he was wanted but refused to turn himself in.
According to the detective, Patron Salvador entered the store with Aaron Araujo, 20, of Modesto, to rob the clerk and customers at gunpoint while two others remained outside. Araujo has been arrested. Also arrested were the alleged getaway driver, Mason Salazar, 18, of Ceres; and a 17-year-old Modesto boy believed to have acted as a lookout.
After the robbery all four fled in the vehicle with an undisclosed amount of cash and property.
Detectives were able to identify all of the suspects through an extensive investigation.
The name of the 17-year-old suspect was not released because of a state law protecting the identities of minors.
