BUSINESS LOITERER ARRESTED ON DRUG WARRANT
A 40-year-old man who was wanted to stand charges for drug offenses was arrested early Tuesday, July 7 when a patrolling officer spotted him milling around behind closed businesses in the 1500 block of Hatch Road.
At 2:52 a.m., Ceres Police Officer Eric Souza was patrolling the area when he contacted Steven West of Modesto at the rear of one of the businesses. When his name was entered into the records system the officer learned that West had a felony warrant for his arrest related to a prior drug offense.
West was arrested on the felony warrant and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
DUI SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER CRASHING INTO PARKED CAR
A 33-year-old Modesto man was arrested after he allegedly was driving drunk at the time he crashed into a parked car Saturday afternoon.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Moffett Road and Riverpark Drive and reported at approximately 4:29 p.m. Officer Gary Singh responded and found Javier Flores, the driver of a Ford Mustang that hit the unoccupied car. Officer Singh detected the signs and symptoms of someone under the influence of alcohol, prompting a DUI investigation. Flores participated in a series of field sobriety tests which were performed in a manner consistent with someone being under the influence of alcohol.
Flores was arrested for DUI and provided breath samples that showed his blood alcohol content at over triple the legal limit. He was booked at the Public Safety Center for DUI.
ATWATER MAN ARRESTED FOR DUI IN CERES
Benjamin Rightnour, 29, of Atwater was arrested during a Sunday evening car stop made in the area of Hatch and Mitchell roads.
At 10:25 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Sam Garcia was on patrol when he saw a Nissan Maxima being driven in violation of the California Vehicle Code. Rightnour appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, so he underwent field sobriety tests which confirmed the officer’s observations.
Rightnour was arrested for DUI and provided breath samples over double the legal limit.
During a records check, it was also learned that Rightnour had a felony warrant for his arrest related to a robbery charge. Rightnour was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
