A 30-year-old Antioch man who drove to Ceres allegedly drunk was arrested by police after he was reported passed out drunk at the Chevron gas station south of Hatch Road.

Ceres Police Officer Scott Faure was dispatched to the Chevron at 1501 Herndon Road at 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7 for a male passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle at the gas island. Officer Faure found the engine was running and Jianxiang Zhou passed out in the driver’s seat. Officer Faure knocked on the window several times to awaken Zhou who finally opened the door. Officer Faure could smell the strong odor of alcohol and conducted a field sobriety test to determine that Zhou was under the influence of alcohol. A breath test confirmed that he was over the legal limit to drive.

Zhou was arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
