A 44-year-old Modesto man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after he struck a parked car in the 1500 block of Caswell Avenue.

The hit-and-run crash was reported at 12:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

Initial reports indicated that the driver of a red Toyota sedan struck a parked vehicle, and walked away from the crash.

Sgt. Vince Hooper stopped Raymond Antonio Rael – later identified as the driver who left the scene – walking in the area of Moffett Road and Plumeria Court.

Rael appeared to be intoxicated. At the conclusion of a DUI investigation, Rael was arrested for DUI, hit-and-run and driving on a suspended driver license for DUI. His breath sample on scene indicated that he was twice the legal limit to drive.
