Mallory Balance, 23, of Escalon, was arrested for a warrant for possession of narcotics after she and a male companion were reported rummaging through a man’s car in the 1000 block of Bordeaux Drive early Saturday.

The owner of the car called 911 shortly before 1 a.m. after seeing Balance and a man inside his car. After calling police he followed the two suspects on foot until officers found them in front of Ross Dress for Less on Hatch Road. 

The victim said nothing was missing from the vehicle, which had been left unlocked. 

Balance was arrested for the warrant.
