A Dec. 18 report of two people slumped over in a black Dodge pickup parked outside of the 99 Cents Only store on Hatch Road resulted in a man being cited and released for an outstanding misdemeanor petty theft warrant issued earlier by the Ceres Police Department.

Driver Austin Kipp Brown, 23 of Modesto, could not provide the reason for being in the area other he and a woman fell asleep there. The incident occurred at 10:43 a.m.
