Bat used in assault

A man accused of striking another man in the head with a baseball bat during a Wednesday, May 21 fight outside of Farmer Boys restaurant ended up being chased down by a police canine.

At 10 p.m. officers responded to a call over a fight outside the Mitchell Road eatery. Officer Greg Yotsuya found a male victim on the ground with three-inch gash on top of his head. The suspect fled across Mitchell Road in a northwest direction into a vacant field.

Officer Julio Amador responded with canine Tyson who helped track down the suspect, Christopher Millward, 49, who was hiding in the grass in a southwest part of the lot. Millward was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
