Brothers arrested in Cost Less robbery
Ceres Cop Car

Two Modesto brothers were arrested Monday morning, Feb. 1, after they allegedly stole items from Cost Less Foods on Hatch Road and then fought a loss prevention officer during a confrontation.

Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. Chris Perry said the grocery store market officer called police at 9:32 a.m. after watching the two collect items in the store and leave without paying. As he followed the pair as they made their way to Kmart on the north side of Hatch he stayed on the phone with police. In the Kmart parking lot he tried to detain the pair and a fight ensued. Police arrived and arrested the two.

Because the two fought the loss prevention officer the theft turned into a robbery felony case.

Hector Plancarte, 20, and Gerardo Plancarte, 23, both of Modesto, were also charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
