Ceres woman arrested for DUI
Ceres Cop Car

Weaving and illegal maneuvers on the road led an officer to pull over and arrest a 26-year-old Ceres woman for drunken driving early Sunday morning.

Officer Ross Bays was patrolling the streets at 12:32 a.m. on Sunday when he observed a black Toyota Camry traveling westbound on Whitmore Avenue at an estimated speed of about 60 mph. Bays followed the vehicle and watched it weave back and forth from the shoulder to the broken white line separating lanes. At Whitmore Avenue and Central Avenue the car made an illegal turn crossing over the double yellow lines pulling into the parking lot of the Chevron. The vehicle then re-entered Whitmore Avenue and accelerated to speeds of nearly 60 mph where it continued to swerve. The vehicle pulled into the parking lot of Taco Bell where Bays made contact with the driver, Destinee Rubalcaba, 26, of Ceres. Bays smelled alcoholic on her breath but she denied drinking anything. Rubalcaba displayed other symptoms of alcohol impairment and failed a field sobriety test. A breath test into the breathalyzer produced a Blood Alcohol Concentration of over twice the legal limit.

Rubalcaba was transported to the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center and booked for DUI.
